Recent Purchases

With my birthday approaching and it being half term I decided to pop into town with my Mom and Sister, as I rarely get the chance now that I work Saturdays and Sundays. I was after a new pair of heels and bag for my birthday outing. I wanted a pair of heels that were slightly lower and had a chunkier heel so I'd be a bit safer and also a clutch as I don't really have any except my prom one which is rather tiny. Thankfully Primark delivered on both fronts with a big black leather clutch for only £5 and a pair of heels for £14.
I was also after a heavier coverage foundation as though I have been wearing BB cream daily I don't have any 'nigh time' foundations. On the recommendation of  a friend I popped into the indoor market to have a look at the make-up and was simply amazed at the prices. They sell a huge range of branded make-up at about half the price of Boots or Superdrug.  I picked up all of the make-up pictured for only £22!  I brought Rimmel stay matte powder for £3 and the new Maybelline falsies push up drama for £3, the Rimmel Match perfection foundation for £4, Bourjois 123 foundation for £4, a Covergirl lipstick for £1, Rimmel lash accelerator for £4 and Maybelline lasting drama gel eye-liner for £3. Reviews will come soon for most of these products I'm sure except for the Rimmel Mascara which I've already reviewed here and the Rimmel Foundation which I've already reviewed here too.

PS I Love Eyeliner Review

I picked it up this £1.50 bargain eyeliner from primark After Siobhan (of The Beauty Baker) recommended it on her blog as my Loreal Superliner Slim was on it's way out and I really didn't want to fork out £7 for a replacement. However I wish I'd never bothered, as although it costs almost 5 times as much, my loreal Eyeliner is simply miles better. I found Primark's offering to be disappointing in every area except cost to be completely honest. Whilst it goes on pretty dark, it doesn't stay long and smudged over my eyelids throughout the day leaving me with grey panda eyes. I also found the tip of the pen to be not quite thin enough to do the perfect flick and it was far too hard on my eyes like an actual felt pen would be so it didn't have any give in it to make it easy to follow the curve of your eyes.
Overall it's definitely not something I'd repurchase, but it did come in quite handy for my Halloween tutorials I did as I didn't want to use an expensive eyeliner for drawing all over my face.
What's your opinion on the PS Love... range? I see a lot of mixed feelings...

Heat Wave Haulin'

Primark Sneakers £4.00/ EyeCandy False Lashes at TKMaxx £2.99
 Missguided at TKMaxx - £5.99
 Fashion Union at TKMaxx -£7.99
 White Cutout Cami - £5.00
 Basic Stripe Tee - £5.00
Monochrome Bardot Top - £6.00

Imagine the scene- It's England. It's June . And it's 35 FREAKING degrees. People are walking round in shorts, tank tops and flip-flops. And Katie cannot find a single summer appropriate top in her wardrobe. Cue a summer shopping trip!
Shorts are one thing I have plenty of, somehow I thought I needed 4 pairs of denim shorts for those 2 days of sunshine we get a year. But tops are another matter altogether. I genuinely haven't been clothes shopping since Easter either which meant I was far too excited. However I think I kept myself in check pretty well and I'm really happy with my purchases, particularly the two skirts from TKMaxx, the black knee length one is just so gorgeous and so 50's. I'm picturing it with a bardot and heels for a summer evening or with the striped top and flats for a more casual daytime look. The striped tee also looks lovely tucked into high waisted denim shorts as does the monochrome bardot which is so perfectly boho. The shoes were a bit of a brave purchase for me considering I'm very much a monochrome kind of gal but my converse are in such a state that I wanted a new pair of casual daytime shoes and thought these would be great for the summer. The only pair left were this size 5 pair so I took it as fate and picked them up with only the slightest of hesitations at the colour palette and pattern. I'm also slightly in love with the Missguided skirt as I love the slight asymmetrical cut at the hem and the monochrome palette means it will match with loads (hopefully). I might actually wear it for my brothers graduation, though I'm not sure what the weather will be like yet.
Anyway I should probably get back to writing my personal statement now...

Easter Primark Haul

Everyone knows that holidays mean its time for a shopping trip to the bullring and to primark!

   Shoes-£10
These shoes were the highlight of my shopping trip, I just think that they are gorgeous and for £10 you cant go wrong! My sister also got some gorgeous ones that were very similar except rather than the cross at the front it was one strap which had cutouts on it, they were £12 and I told her when she brought them that I would be borrowing them!

Daisy Shirt- £10
I love this shirt and wore it 3 times within a week of buying it! I just love Peter Pan collars and the daisy print was so cute!

Black Cami- £10
I don't really have many plain, basic type tops so thought that this would be good to add to my collection but its also quite interesting because it has the added detail of having two layers, plus it would look great with a statement necklace.

Accessories priced as in the photo
Sincc trying out my Katy Perry lashes I decided to try out some more and 4 for a £3 seemed great, I'll be writing a review of these as soon as I try them out but they look great! I'll also write a review of the nails when I get round to trying them out, though that wont be for a while since I'm back at school now. I've never really been a fan of fake nails because mine are quite long anyway but the patterns on these were just soooo cute I couldn't resist. I seem to buy grips everytime I go primark but I'm always running out as I'm sure everyone understands, and I thought the necklace would be perfect for spring.

We also stopped off at poundland and I was super happy to see that they had strawberry flavoured marshmallow fluff which is one I've never tried, plus I saw metcalfes skinny topcorn and after seeing it on A Yellow Brick Blog I knew I had to try some and I so do not regret it! It tastes amazing, especially the salt and sweet one that I got, I still cant believe its only 78 calories per bag, its literally amazing, everyone should try it. I also brought some little cake pop moulds to try out too since it was only £1.

I hope you guys all had a great Easter holiday too!

Christmassy Santa Nails and Primark Nail Art Brushes

After I got home from the German Market on Friday I decided to  paint my nails all christmassy :)
On my thumb I did Santa's face, on my middle finger I did his jacket and on my little finger I did his hat, then the rest were plain red.

I used some new nail art brushes that I picked up in Primark whilst I was out, there were 10 in a pack for £3.

As you can see I have already managed to get nail varnish all up the 2 on the right doing my Santa nails.
The set comes with 1 fan brush, 4 long thin ones in varying lengths and then 5 normal brushes in varying widths and lengths. Plus each brush comes with a protective cover.

Have you got anything christmassy on your nails?
