Motivational Desktop Wallpapers

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9
In January everyone's looking for a little extra motivation, whether it's getting out of bed in the morning when the sun hasn't even started to rise, if it's picking up your trainers and going for a run or putting down that gorgeous pair of heels that are on sale because you're trying to save. Which is why I decided to put together a little list of my favourite motivational desktop wallpapers because I was looking for a new one myself. Most of them ended up being from the newly discovered DesignLoveFest.com when I did a couple google searches. Their  'Dress your Tech' feature is just brilliant.
Enjoy!

Fitness Motivation Tips

1. Write a list of why you started- They can be very sensible reasons like 'Because it's good for my heart' or not so sensible ones like 'I don't want to be the first one to die in the Hunger Games'. Take out the list and look at it whenever you need to be reminded why you started.
2. Tell your friends- This is one that I have definitely done! By telling my friends it forces me to workout because I don't like people to see me fail, this one works particularly well if you don't wanna hurt your pride. My friends have also been asking me for updates on how I'm doing which helps too.
3. Keep an inspiration board-  I have a super motivational (To me at least) Fitspo collection on We Heart It that I look at whenever I'm not feeling like doing exercise or even after a run to remind me why I'm doing it. Mine is full of pretty gym clothes, hot bodies, gorgeous food and inspiring quotes that motivate and inspire me to push myself harder, if you wanna check it out you can find it here.
4. Wear pretty gym clothes- Anyone else lust over pretty sports bras, leggings and trainers when they don't even exercise and literally have 0 use for them? I always have, which is one of the reasons I decided to start running, to justify my lusting. I picked up a pretty matching sports bra and leggings for under £20.
5. Reward yourself- For every day that you workout add 50p or £1 to a jar, then at the end of the month, or whenever you reach your goal amount go and treat yourself, maybe a new pair of shoes, or a MAC lipstick? Personally I've been using this to save for a pair of  Nike running shoes, theyre just so pretty and will give me even more motivation to go running.

Leave me any of your tips in the comments...

Resolution No. 3: Start Running

USA Pro Blue Leopard Sports Bra and Three Quarter Leggings/ Sony MDR ZX300/L Headphones

So as you'll know if you read my New Years Resolutions Post one of my new years resolutions this year was to start running. Back in November I had decided I wanted to start exercising so during the Black Friday Sales I picked up a USA Pro Sports Bra and Leggings because I knew that having cute gym wear would definitely motivate me more to start exercising. So I started doing Blogilates videos quite regularly. I discovered Cassey's website/channel a year or two ago now and it really is phenomenal, however I just find it really hard to follow her calenders because of how intensive they are and the fact that they mean I had to find time to exercise everyday 6 days a week. However over Christmas I obviously completely failed and my exercise 'routine' just completely stopped so in January I decided that enough was enough, I was tired of always feeling like I couldn't do it and told myself that I could. Its been just over 3 weeks since I decided that it was time to start running and so far, whilst it's been hard work, I don't regret it one bit. I think the main reason that's made me stick with it so far is the help of this app- C25K available on Android/Apple. It asks you to do 3, 30 minute runs for 8 weeks with the aim of getting you to a point where you can run 5K. In order to this it tells you when to run and when to walk, for example for the first week you do a 5 minute walk to warm up then 60 seconds of running to 90 seconds of running for another 20 minutes and then a 5 minute walking cool-down. Each week the running increases and the walking decreases, steadily improving your fitness. You can also play music through or over it plus it even pauses your music to talk to you when you need to change from walking to running, having good music always help me to run faster, so this is a great bonus. The next thing on my to-do list is to buy some good running shoes because at the moment I've been running in my converse, which I'm not sure is the best idea.

Sorry this has been a very long wordy post, I just wanted to give you all an update on my resolutions, I'm hoping to do some more fitness related posts in the near future...

Day 31: 2015 Resolutions

*I apologize for the extreme lateness, but I thought that this post had been scheduled to go up, oops.*

I'm not usually a huge fan of the new year resolutions thing, cus everyone knows that they're just gonna give them up within like two weeks, however this year since it was one of the topics, I decided to try it out. I'm not gonna bother talking through my resolutions because they are pretty self explanatory. I'm just gonna make two quick comments. Number 6 is a brave one however I did manage 22 books last year (I have literally no idea how, I think it's just cus I read so much in the summer holidays!) so I'm gonna push myself this year.  And as for number 3, that's also a very brave one as I do no sport or exercise of any type at the moment! Although I have started doing blogilates videos again in November after I brought some workout gear in the black friday sales though and am really enjoying it, plus I'm feeling pretty determined. In order to save up for my running shoes I'm putting a pound in a jar for everyday that I exercise so hopefully I'll be able to save up for a nice pair of nikes in about 2 months. Thank god I'm a size 5 and can fit in the childrens section, that's gonna save me like £20-£30.
Well anyway those are my resolutions, they're very generic and obvious and aren't really all that measurable, but I don't really have any targets just general areas to improve in my life. I'm already failing at the more sleep one since its now 11pm on a school night. Oops.
Let me know yours!

DIY Bedroom Decor

Today I wanted to share with you a few of the DIY decorating projects that I have been adding to my room over the summer.

PHOTO COLLAGE
The first one (the photo wall) has been there since I moved but I have added lots of new quotes to it recently (the ones above the photo collage in the centre) so I thought I would include it.

I have been collecting things and adding to the wall since I moved house which is a whole year and a half ago now! Some of the stuff was on my wall in my old house, however the main addition since moving was the big photo collage in the centre which my friends Rose and Liz made for me for my birthday last year, it was such a thoughtful gift and easily one of the best I've ever been given.

QUOTE GLOBE
I actually got the inspiration for this off of Shay Mitchell's Instagram, when she posted this picture...
When I saw it I just fell in love with it and knew I had to have a go at recreating it. Basically I just got this globe from the 99p store and drew out the quote with a pencil copying it off a picture I found online, then used white acrylic paint and went over it 4-5 times. I'm really happy with how it turned out, considering how terrible I am at painting.

DIY DREAMCATCHER
Here is a really good DIY done by one of my favourite youtubers LaurDIY that I followed to do the weaving in the centre of it. For the ring I used half of an embroidery hoop then wrapped it in twine and used an old pair of earrings that I never wore for the feathers and the charms in the bottom.

So there we go, 3 easy DIY's to for your bedroom...

Motivational Monday #03

Pencil hand lettered quote by Voltaire.

I remember reading on tumblr once that perfectionists are often procrastinators because they feel that if they can't do it perfectly now, they may as well leave it till another day. And I think that is kind of what this means really, don't put off doing something that you can do well just because you can't do it perfectly.
I think this is kind of what I do with my revision really, I'm like 'well I don't have the right equipment' or 'I don't know exactly what I should be revising' so I leave it till another day. As you may have seen in yesterdays post I have started procrastinating through baking this week. I have made brownies, cookies, macaroons and more brownies this week rather than revising...oops.
I also tend to procrastinate by blogging, I currently have 14 draft posts on the go. So now I'm going to have to go and do some spanish revision, which for me consists of covering my bathroom in neon yellow post it notes with random spanish words on. Yay...

Motivational Monday #01

I'm starting a new series inspired by one of my favourite bloggers/youtubers-Sprinkle of Glitter! Except when I say inspired by I really mean copied from though. I think its such a great idea to share something with all my followers that might make them smile or give them hope. And who doesn't need that on a Monday morning!

So here we go: Motivational Monday #01...

I think this is a really good one to start off the new year with. So many people each year vow to do more things that scare them and try new things. And so often the things that people fear are things that once done people find that they enjoy. So this week, all of you do something that scares you even if its just a little thing like speaking to a stranger!
