Bleach London Washed Up Mermaid: Revisted

My second experience with this dye was better than the first which I talked about here. My hair has gone greener than the first time I used it but I think that was mainly because I used over half the bottle just on my ends and left the dye on my hair for 30 mins rather than the recommended 5-20 mins.
I shampooed my hair twice, towel dried my hair and then slathered it on liberally like conditioner on my blonde bits. 30 minutes later I washed it all out with water and was left with pale minty green ends which I was very happy with. Being the terrible blogger I am though I forgot to get any photos and by the time I got round to writing this post, most of it has washed out and its only very subtly green so there isn't really much point in getting and photos of it.
But overall I'm pleased with his dye and it works great as long as your hair is bleached, in fact I might try out some of the other colours in the range at some point.

Bleach London Washed Up Mermaid Temporary Dye Review

Overall I was quite disappointed in this dye, I'm not sure if I didn't put enough dye on (though I did put about a golf ball sized amount on each half of my hair) or if the colour didn't show up particularly well because my hair wasn't bleached but it only came out with the lightest tinge of green as opposed to the blue on the bottle.

Here it is whilst it was still wet after I had washed out the dye-

The colour I ended up with really was quite different to what the bottle says. I knew it wouldn't be exactly like that because my hair's not bleached but I thought it would show up better, especially since I had dipdyed it blonde and it was fairly light anyway. I does look quite bluish in these pics but in reality it was more green.

The left is the photo off of the boots website and right is obviously my hair.
These photos were taken immediately after I had dyed it and washed it out without having any styling or anything.

After 2 weeks or so which would be about 8 washes I think, the colour had mostly come out but there was still a bit of green left to my hair, it stayed particularly well on some of the lighter blonde bits as you would expect. Another 2 weeks on from that (So 4 weeks after dying), as I  am writing this, I can still see a pretty faint green tinge to some strands of my hair.

Over all I'm not sure about his product but since I have a whole bottle anyway I will definitely be trying it again (with more dye this  time) but that won't be till summer probably as we arent allowed 'severe Hair cuts, styles or colours' at school and as I said the colour lasts quite a while.

Have you tried any of the Bleach London dyes or could you recommend  a better alternative?

Mini Hair Product Haul

On the way home from school I decided to pick up some stuff in Boots before christmas. My purse did not appreciate this...

I picked up some hair dye because I wanted to re-dip-dye my hair, I decided to stick with the same l'oreal dye that I used last time, as I figured I'd play it safe.
I also picked up some temporary blue hair dye from Bleach London to try over the christmas holidays whilst I'm off school. I wanna dip dye it a turquoise minty green colour which is why I got 'Washed Up Mermaid' but I'm not sure how well it will work on my hair...we'll see.

Then I picked up another bottle of Toni and Guy Heat protectant spray because I had run out and straightening my hair without it was drying it out so badly it made me want to cry.

Finally, I decided to try Lee Stafford Bleach Blonde Shampoo as the heat protectant and blue hair dye were on 3 for 2 and this would end up free. I was just about to finish my current bottle of shampoo so when I saw it in the shop and realised it is the one that Zoella recommended for ombred hair I figured I would give it a try. It is a very bright purple which is quite a shock when you first use it and I also realised that it is a toning shampoo meaning that it should only really be used once a week but I shall see how it goes.

What have your purses not been appreciating lately?
