Bleach London Washed Up Mermaid: Revisted

My second experience with this dye was better than the first which I talked about here. My hair has gone greener than the first time I used it but I think that was mainly because I used over half the bottle just on my ends and left the dye on my hair for 30 mins rather than the recommended 5-20 mins.
I shampooed my hair twice, towel dried my hair and then slathered it on liberally like conditioner on my blonde bits. 30 minutes later I washed it all out with water and was left with pale minty green ends which I was very happy with. Being the terrible blogger I am though I forgot to get any photos and by the time I got round to writing this post, most of it has washed out and its only very subtly green so there isn't really much point in getting and photos of it.
But overall I'm pleased with his dye and it works great as long as your hair is bleached, in fact I might try out some of the other colours in the range at some point.

Toni and Guy Reverse Conical Wand

This is another of my January Sales purchases which I have finally got round to reviewing! I brought this on boxing day since I don't actually have any curlers and these were only £9.99 at superdrug! The usual price is £30 as well so I was super excited!
I have tried a few Toni and Gut products over the last few years so I had high hopes for these curlers and I must say they delivered! They heat up fast and can be used to give loose waves or tighter curls. The unique reverse conical shape is supposed to give you tighter curls at the top and looser ones at the bottom which doesn't sound like it makes much sense but actually works out really well.

The cord is also salon length so it's 3m long which is really useful, the cord on my hairdryer is super short so it makes it really difficult to use sometimes.
It also comes with a really useful heat proof glove so that you don't burn your hands like I always do with curlers! Though I have to admit it got a little annoying when I had to keep changing hands.
Here is a couple of pictures of my hair after I've used the curlers...

So what do you guys think?

Mark Hill MiracOILicious Product Reviews

Okay, well first off I'm sorry. Firstly for not doing a motivational Monday post and secondly for not doing any post this week...I genuinely don't know where the week has gone. I seem to have been flooded in schoolwork and when I haven't, I've been too tired to do anything. I officially started revision this week for my exams unfortunately. As a result I have decided that I need a posting schedule and that I need to stick to it. I'll be doing motivational mondays on mondays (obviously) and then another post on a thursday or friday starting on the 24th because this week I'm on half term so I should be able to post quite a bit :)
I think thats all the adminy/news type stuff done now so onto the review...

With some of my christmas money I decided to treat myself to this Mark Hill Super Sleek MiracOILicious Treatments Gift Set from boots...

And frankly, I adore it! It has the MiracOILicious Nourishing Shampoo, MiracOILcious 2 Minute Miracle Intensive Treatment, MiracOILicious Moroccan Argan Oil plus a little hair turban.

I absolutely love this hair mask, it makes my hair feel so silky soft after I wash my hair and it makes it so easy to brush out after my shower because it's completely knot free. My hair has genuinely never felt this good. The mask is a good consistency too because its thick enough to really stay in my hair rather than slip straight through it. Though it is quite hard to wash out and takes a few extra minutes than usual. I have started using it once a week now to keep my hair in tip top condition.

First things first this shampoo smells amazing! Its like entering a sweet shop. I can see that some may find it over bearing but I personally love it. Its just like the mask and leaves my hair feeling gorgeous as well. As its a hydrating shampoo which contains oil I was slightly worried that it would make my hair look greasy as my roots get greasy quite quickly anyway but so far so good. I do however find that its quite hard to work up into a lather which is disappointing and similar to the mask can take a few extra minutes to rinse out than other shampoos. But on the plus side, after using it only twice my mom did comment on how shiny my hair looked.

This oil feels so strange when you squirt it onto your hands, its so light that you can barely feel it but this means it doesn't weigh my hair down which is great. I was quite scared about putting an oil in my hair too but it hasn't made it look greasy or heavy.  I have taken to using one full squirt over the bottom of my hair focusing primarily on the ends which can get quite dry especially due to heat damage and I can see a noticeable difference in the ends.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase, I would definitely consider re-buying the mask but as of right now I'm not sure about the shampoo or oil, I need to try them a bit longer first I think.
As a side note how brilliant is Bridget Jones? I've been watching it whilst writing this :)

Mini Hair Product Haul

On the way home from school I decided to pick up some stuff in Boots before christmas. My purse did not appreciate this...

I picked up some hair dye because I wanted to re-dip-dye my hair, I decided to stick with the same l'oreal dye that I used last time, as I figured I'd play it safe.
I also picked up some temporary blue hair dye from Bleach London to try over the christmas holidays whilst I'm off school. I wanna dip dye it a turquoise minty green colour which is why I got 'Washed Up Mermaid' but I'm not sure how well it will work on my hair...we'll see.

Then I picked up another bottle of Toni and Guy Heat protectant spray because I had run out and straightening my hair without it was drying it out so badly it made me want to cry.

Finally, I decided to try Lee Stafford Bleach Blonde Shampoo as the heat protectant and blue hair dye were on 3 for 2 and this would end up free. I was just about to finish my current bottle of shampoo so when I saw it in the shop and realised it is the one that Zoella recommended for ombred hair I figured I would give it a try. It is a very bright purple which is quite a shock when you first use it and I also realised that it is a toning shampoo meaning that it should only really be used once a week but I shall see how it goes.

What have your purses not been appreciating lately?

Loreal Preference Wild Ombre Dye Kit Review

Over the summer I finally got round to dip-dying my hair and thought I'd share with you a quick review of the Loreal kit I used, which is below-

Here were the results straight after I had done it-

This is a photo of it about a week or two later when I was at the Fusion Festival (Which was AMAZING!) Ignore the facepaint haha this was the only nice photo I could find.

Rather than just combing it all through and leaving it for 45 minutes like the kit said, I brushed it through the bottom 3 inches or so of my hair and left it for 10 Minutes  then I painted it up another 3 inches and left it for 10 minutes, then painted it up another 3 inches or so up to my chin and then left it for the remaining 25 minutes. Then I just washed it out as the instructions said.
I chose to do it this way because I didn't just want a harsh line through my hair, I wanted a more natural, more graduated progression.
I really am quite happy with how it turned out :D

Comment below if your hair is ombred or if your thinking of taking the plunge ;)

Bow Headband to Clip

I had this headband which was a little broken and that I haven't really been wearing...

...so I decided to cut the bow off it and superglue a clip to it.

So now I have a cute new hair clip which hopefully I'll be wearing more often.

I mostly wear it when I have my hair up in a pony or a bun like so...
